Perichoresis

dancing around; (peri- around; choresis- choreography) We are to “dance around” each other; to have our lives intersected; even as they are completely intersected with the Dancer of all Dancers. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in a constant, perfect dance with one another. Our dancing will undoubtedly be messy as we are trying to figure things out, but we must keep practicing, keep rehearsing, because the Great Ball is closer than we can comprehend.

O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go

Sat in the sanctuary at work on Friday and flipped through a hymnal for a bit. Sang through a few new songs, and then smiled as I came across this one. Sang it for awhile and recorded the last time. For some reason I seem to be unable to post it because it’s not an MP3 file…?

So touched by this song. FYI- definitely worth checking out the history behind this one- devastating and beautiful.

  1. O Love that wilt not let me go,
    I rest my weary soul in thee;
    I give thee back the life I owe,
    That in thine ocean depths its flow
    May richer, fuller be.
  2. O light that foll’west all my way,
    I yield my flick’ring torch to thee;
    My heart restores its borrowed ray,
    That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
    May brighter, fairer be.
  3. O Joy that seekest me through pain,
    I cannot close my heart to thee;
    I trace the rainbow through the rain,
    And feel the promise is not vain,
    That morn shall tearless be.
  4. O Cross that liftest up my head,
    I dare not ask to fly from thee;
    I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
    And from the ground there blossoms red
    Life that shall endless be.
